Who can apply

An Irvine-only fund for local groups.

Priority will be given to applications from local not-for-profit grassroots community groups, voluntary organisations, third sector organisations, community interest companies and registered charities.

Your organisation should be based within the Irvine boundary, or your project should benefit communities within it. You will need a minimum of three members, a bank account in your organisation’s name, and written rules such as a constitution or minutes of meetings.

Before a formal Offer of Grant you will be asked for your constitution, any accreditation and any safeguarding paperwork, and to confirm your position on GDPR, Prevent Duty, Disclosure Scotland and Fair Work First.

Grant objectives

Your project must meet at least one of these objectives.

The grant sits under the Plan for Neighbourhoods “Cohesion” intervention area.

Support staffing of community facilities

Increased community action

Wealth building

Building the ability to keep providing services and activities.

Sense of community and belonging

Reducing inequalities

Minimising anti-social behaviour

Examples of the kind of project we are looking for: bringing people together from different communities, neighbourhood festivals and cultural exchange, mentoring and buddying schemes, town-hall discussions on local issues, supporting or establishing groups that reduce social isolation and loneliness, and work that helps communities tackle hate crime and misinformation.

Projects can be delivered in one or more areas of Irvine: Town Centre & Harbourside, Bourtreehill & Broomlands, Girdle Toll, Lawthorn, Castlepark, Fullarton, and Dreghorn & Springside.

What we will ask

The application form in brief.

The form asks about your organisation, the amount you are requesting and a breakdown of project costs, your eligibility, and the project itself: its background, name, location, start and completion dates, a full description, who it is for and how many people it will help.

It also asks how you will deliver the project: your risk assessment and insurances, who will look after the grant money and run the project, and how you will monitor and evaluate it. Successful applicants report progress to the Board during and at the end of the project.

How to apply

Open from 19 October 2026. Download the form, complete it, and return it by Sunday 22 November 2026.

The application form includes the full guidance notes for every question. Completed and signed forms should be emailed to irvinegrant@ourirvine.scot. The same address can help if you need assistance with your application.
